ECS is seeking a Basic Cost Analyst to work in our Dahlgren, VA (Hybrid) office Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding.  

 

Job Description:

ECS seeks qualified candidates to support the Missile Defense Agency in Dahlgren, VA and will be required to be onsite two days per week. The chosen candidate will work closely with team members and/or supervisors on assigned projects and activities with emphasis on thoroughness, technical accuracy, and timeliness of products. Employee focuses on improving detailed understanding of the organization and mastering skills required for assigned tasks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and providing Analyses of Alternatives, Business Case Analyses, and mid-term and far-term architecture planning studies.
  • Analyzing Contract Performance Reports (CPRs) and Cost and Software Data Reports (CSDRs) (formerly CCDRs) and incorporate data into cost estimates.
  • Developing cost models and articulate results both in written form and verbally.
  • Conducting cost research studies.
  • Supporting budget analysis and budget formulation functions.

 

Required Skills:

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • 0+ years’ experience.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

 

Desired Skills:

  • BS/BA Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or related field.
  • Proficiency with the Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tool (ACEIT).
  • Experience using Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Ability to Analyze Contract Performance Reports (CPRs) and Cost and Software Data Reports (CSDRs) formerly CCDRs and incorporate data into cost estimates.
  • Developing Cost Models.
  • Knowledge of model tool and databases used to develop cost estimates.
  • Experience with cost research studies.
  • Experience/knowledge in DoD budget analysis and budget formulation.
  • Knowledge of DoD process for preparing life cycle cost estimates.
  • Knowledge of OSD CAIG roles, procedures & expectations.
  • Experience with hardware & software cost methodologies and estimates for missile, radar, and communication systems.
