ECS is seeking a Data & AI Solutions Architect. This is a remote opportunity or can be supported from Fairfax, VA office.

Job Description:

ECS is seeking a motivated Data & AI Solutions Architect to join our recently formed Strategic Solutions division. If you are passionate about designing cutting-edge Data & AI solutions that address the dynamic mission needs of US Federal agencies, then ECS should be on your short list of companies to consider!

As a Data & AI Solutions Architect, you will report directly to the Director of Solutions Architecture. You will join a diverse team of Data, Cloud, Software, and Architecture professionals who work together to support business growth and solutions delivery across all ECS business units. Within this division, our Solutions Architecture team actively supports business development activities and complex capture of large contracts in partnership with capture leaders and executives. Our contributions have a significant impact on the growth of the ECS business, due to our priority of supporting the top strategic pipeline opportunities across Defense, Civilian, and Intelligence Community agencies.

You will be empowered to lead the development of enterprise Data & AI solutions throughout the opportunity lifecycle, from deal qualification through proposal submission and into knowledge transition following award. We will pair you with an experienced Capture Manager to collaborate on win, teaming, and solution strategy, with assistance from our Business Unit program teams and executive leaders who have developed close customer relationships. You will collaborate with other technologists and process SMEs to develop solution concepts, elicit feedback from both customers and other experts within the company, and iterate towards well-defined technical solutions that help ECS stand out from the pack.

At ECS, we are not just talking about AI, we are delivering AI. We have one of the strongest track records and portfolios of data science and engineering work in the US Federal government. Our solution teams have been applying mathematical models, computer vision, PAI analysis, geospatial technology, and automation capabilities to equip our government customers with timely decision support in mission environments that are critical to our national security, and the health and safety of US citizens.

You don't necessarily need to have hands-on-keyboard experience at the command line, but we are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect who can translate customer requirements into a compelling solution vision, and then rally a team of supporting engineers and SMEs to achieve the right level of technical depth. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable sketching technical concepts at the whiteboard in a room of data scientists and engineers, and you must be confident in translating these concepts in solution strategy presentations to an executive leadership team and customers for their buy-in and support. You will be challenged to expand your understanding of AI, Machine Learning techniques, data wrangling, mining, engineering, security, management, and governance. This role is not appropriate for someone who is limited in knowledge to only Business Intelligence, dashboards, and reporting; at ECS, we construct enterprise-grade solutions to operationalize advanced ML pipelines in integration with mission systems and applications.

You will grow both your business and technical skills in a flexible work environment that is a hybrid of remote/virtual and in-person sessions as needed. You will have the support and develop camaraderie with a collaborative team of varying experience levels and backgrounds. Your manager will also provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to help you succeed in your near-term assignments and long-term career path.

If you are self-motivated, thrive in a team environment, enjoy the challenge of taking on new requirements, bring innovative solutions to the table, and are a continual learner, then this is a great opportunity for you!

Required Skills:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Informatics, Systems Engineering, Management, or related
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Data & AI Solutions Architect role for US Federal bids and proposals
  • Background in designing and/or implementing solutions for Federal agencies that involve data architecture, AI, ML, data science, and/or data engineering
  • Demonstrated solution leadership experience in support of capturing strategic business opportunities with total contract values above $75M
  • Ability to build partnerships, bridge gaps, and reach a common understanding between business-oriented stakeholders, technical leadership, and technical subject matter experts when collaborating on highly technical solutions to meet specific mission needs
  • Continual assessment of commercial and open source technology trends, products, and services for their applicability and effectiveness in meeting customer needs
  • Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills, including storyboarding, whiteboarding, and CONOPS/OV-1 development
  • US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, if necessary

Desired Skills:

  • 5 or more years supporting solutions architecture for US Federal bids and proposals; roles may include Lead/Supporting Architect, subject matter expert, technical book boss, author, and reviewer for proposals
  • Experience building estimation inputs into cost and pricing models for complex enterprise solution bids, proposals, or ROMs
  • Broad understanding and awareness of Agile, UX, Cloud, software architecture, cybersecurity, and information assurance practices and techniques, especially as they relate to enterprise Data solutions
  • Hands-on experience within the past 5 years in a program management, project implementation, or direct customer advisory role for advanced analytics, AI, or ML
  • Experience with FEDSIM and other Oral proposal presentation formats is a definite plus
