Position Summary
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions for the production, development, and corporate environments. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with other teams, including the Platform and Application teams, Network Operations Center (NOC), and Linux Systems teams, to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud-based infrastructure. This role requires strong Service Level Agreement (SLA) responsibilities and adherence to strict change control.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions for the organization's production, development, and corporate environments.
- Actively participate in the architecture and implementation of carrier-class solutions with Information Technology, NOC, and Systems teams.
- Write documentation, policies, and procedures related to the cloud infrastructure and its integrity.
- Manage cloud infrastructure maintenance contracts and renewals to ensure proper coverage is in place.
- Assist in engineering solutions for new and existing cloud environments to increase uptime and efficiency.
- Monitor and architect solutions to ensure cloud capacity, performance, and functionality meet acceptable standards for clients and vendors.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year of Network Engineering experience.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts such as Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
- Knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language used for cloud automation and deployment.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is preferred.
Desired Competencies/Skills
- Team player with a strong work ethic and excellent documentation skills.
- Experience in a Carrier or ISP environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Ansible) is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
