Effective immediately:   (FT) Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Specialist in the College of Online and Experiential Learning (COEL) at Wilmington University’s Wilson Graduate Center.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum of two years’ experience working in higher education, preferably in a student services role to successfully perform the job. Must have excellent communication, customer services skills, and organization skills.  Must demonstrate professionalism in all situations.  Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations.  Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently as well as work successfully in a team environment.  Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of Banner or other Microsoft-based Student Information Systems preferred but not required.  The incumbent must have experience working with databases. Adhere to strict confidentiality and other ethical standards.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Analyze and respond to student inquiries about CPL.  Evaluate student background to include, but not limited to: employment background, academic transcripts, and prior learning experiences. Counsel students about prior learning assessment options, degree programs, student service offerings, and academic requirements for the University. Promote student awareness for internships and cooperative learning experiences. Maintain relationships with employers who are providing student internship and co-op experiences. Update and manage the COEL website, social media, and marketing communications. Manage CPL reports. Serve as the liaison for the Council for Adult Experiential Learning (CAEL) “PLA Accelerator”. Assist in preparing students for experiential learning opportunities. Meet with internal departments to increase awareness of COEL offerings. Conduct outreach to current and prospective students about COEL offerings. Assist in developing the COEL SharePoint site to provide reporting and resources to the University.

Hours of Employment:  Generally, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Incumbent must be flexible with their schedule and/or hours to meet the needs of the department and/or the University).
