The Mine Engineer is responsible for performing and assisting with plant efficiency studies, managing all levels of projects, and development of project scopes/estimates. This role will be required to support Aggregates, Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), and Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) within the New York Region.

Mine Engineer - What Will You Do?

  • Constant evaluation of KPI’s with other members of the NY Leadership team.

  • Evaluate plant equipment to optimize production and sales mix.

  • Identify bottlenecks within plant and areas resulting in downtime and/or reduced production.

  • Develop project proposals with clearly defined scopes.

  • Evaluate and generate General Arrangement CAD drawings.

  • Develop accurate cost estimates for projects.

  • Develop and submit CEARS.

  • Develop project schedules.

  • Issue Purchase Orders for project equipment, components, and services.

  • Manage projects by monitoring costs and schedules.

  • Maintain regular communications with plant superintendents and other operational leaders.

     

Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, AggFlow, or related software a plus 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current mining regulations and processes, adhering to all MSHA / OHSA regulations on projects

  • Ability to build professional relationships with leaders and external networks

  • Excellent customer service orientation

  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Must possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work

  • Ability to work independently but as part of a team concept

  • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Valid driver's license and meets NESL's driving standards.
