Description

An educational technology company that partners with top colleges and universities to bring their degree programs online is looking to engage an experienced multimedia producer in an ongoing work-from-home, part-time position. No specific start date has been set, but we are hoping to identify someone terrific who can start right away. 

We are hoping to talk with applicants who can commit between 15 and 20 hours/week; that's how much work will be on tap most weeks. Over the course of this extended engagement we expect there to be a couple of weeks that offer more or fewer hours. Our understanding is that the employer will need someone in this role for at least six months, although there will likely be an opportunity to extend the engagement beyond six months. We believe there will also be an opportunity for the person in this role to continue working with the employer on an as-needed, project-oriented basis far into the future. 

The Multimedia Producer will support the employer's marketing department with the production of multimedia assets for external partner academic programs. They will collaborate with marketing stakeholders to strategically analyze and interpret briefs and present and implement successful video- or photo-oriented solutions. The Multimedia Producer will produce marketing videos for paid and organic channels, and plan/produce photography and video shoots. 

This role reports to an Art Director and collaborates closely with marketing group designers, copywriters, and others. The employer's marketing group is a collection of energetic and ambitious creative experts who are dedicated to producing the highest quality marketing communications and branded creative assets for their partner programs.

REQUIRED PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITIES: 
* Pitch concepts and clearly convey rationales to marketing stakeholders.
* Collaborate with copy, design, and brand teams to grasp brand and client needs and specifications.
* Storyboard, budget, allocate resources, set deadlines and select optimal forms of media for projects. 
* Work closely with the art director and internal stakeholders to establish project deliverables.
* Produce video shoots and photoshoots that support marketing efforts across partner programs.
* Plan, organize, and produce all necessary elements of photo and video shoots. Responsibilities include:
--- Budgeting 
--- Planning shoots 
--- Location scouting
--- Hiring/recruiting talent (actors, models, professors/deans, students, etc.)
--- Hiring crew (photographer, videographer, grip, hair/makeup, etc.)
--- Communicating brand and project messaging
--- Scheduling shoots to accommodate crew and talent, while meeting project deadlines
--- Ensuring delivery of assets to editors for post-production
* Manage multiple projects and remain flexible through revisions while maintaining keen attention to detail.
* Maintain the visual brand identities and content strategies of our partner brands.

OPTIONAL EDITING RESPONSIBILITIES: 
* Organize raw media, edit footage and sound files, create and insert static and motion graphics, titling, add music/voiceover.
* Create rough and final cuts following standard exporting/converting files to various formats while maintaining an organized system.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 
* Minimum 4 years consistent experience in full-time or freelance roles.
* Proficiency with videography and photography, including knowledge of all relevant camera and lighting equipment.
* Proficiency with digital technology, FX, and editing software packages (e.g., After Effects, Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
* Strong sense of visual composition, motion, and storytelling.
* Able to confidently present work and provide rationales to a variety of levels within the organization.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively while remaining open to feedback and art direction.

LOCATION:
All work can be done remotely (i.e. from your home). You will not need to visit the organization's offices, which are in Maryland. It is worth mentioning that much of the organization's full-time staff works remotely year-round. 
 
HOURS:
We are seeking well qualified individuals who are interested in the following situation:  
 
(1) working 15-20 hours most weeks;
(2) mostly during typical business hours;
(3) entirely from a remote location; 
(4) ongoing for the foreseeable future.
 
RATE:
Brainstorm Creative Resources strives to pay competitively. For this scope of work we are suggesting a broad rate range of $55/hour to $73/hour. For proper framing it is worth noting that these hourly rates, when annualized, offer income equivalent to salaries ranging from $110Kto $146K. The broad rate range reflects our interest in hearing from well qualified individuals who bring an equally broad range of experience. 

It is unlikely (but not impossible) that we will be able to pay appropriately qualified early career professionals near the top of the stated rate range. Alternatively, highly experienced professionals whose resumes communicate substantial, relevant experience can expect that we will make a strong case to our client, to pay you near the top of the range. 

The actual rate offered will be commensurate with your experience and will largely be based on the following factors: credentials as detailed in your resume, your portfolio, your interview experiences with Brainstorm Creative Resources and/or our client, and quality of reference providers and references provided.
