UX Designer (40-hour project / two-week timeline)

Location: DC-Washington
Company Order Number: 1586
# of openings: 1

Brainstorm Creative Resources is looking to engage an experienced User Experience Designer in a project that will unfold over the course of one to two weeks. This is a remote work opportunity open to qualified individuals living anywhere in the United States. We’re ready to kick-off the project immediately upon identifying an available UX Designer who offers the right mix of skills and experience.

We're looking to talk with individuals who can be at least 75% focused on this effort during typical east coast business hours throughout the project duration. The remaining 25% of time committed can be outside of typical business hours. We expect the person in this role will work approximately 40 total over the course of one to two weeks.

The client organization may request occasional support after the initial scope of work is completed during the one to two week engagement. So, there's an opportunity to extend the working relationship. Follow-on work would be offered with limited time commitments and flexible work hours.

The UX Designer chosen for this role will work with a team of highly experienced strategy, product management, and project management professionals who are full-time employees at a media planning and buying firm that provides campaign strategy and execution support to its clients. The stakeholder team is currently working toward the launch of a new data insights product/platform. The UX Designer's primary task will be to work alongside a development team to build a high fidelity mock-up of this product within Figma.
We’re interested in hearing from talented professionals at all career levels, but early career professionals must have at least three years of ongoing professional experience working as a titled UX Designer or similar.

We'll be glad to share plenty of additional information about the employer with well qualified applicants.
• BA degree or higher in UX Design or a closely related field.
• Minimum of three years in a titled UX Design role, preferably in a publishing, agency or digital products and services company setting.
• Online portfolio of professional UX Design work.
• Ability to work effectively on a team that embraces agile principals and a lean design process.
• Fluency with standard design software and platforms (Figma, Miro, Adobe Suite, etc.).
• Knowledge of and practical experience in working closely with Product Management teams.
• Knowledge in key UX areas like information architecture, UI Design best practices, interaction design patterns, style guides and pattern libraries.
• Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
• Passionate about UX design.
• Productive, problem solver, communicator, organized, self-starter, detail-oriented, multitasker, dependable.
• Strong organization skills with the ability to independently prioritize and manage time effectively across multiple projects.
• Ability to offer and accept feedback constructively.
• Self-motivated, inquisitive.
• Desire to stay ahead of emerging trends.
• Strong sense of collaboration; you should thrive in iterative, cross-disciplinary environments.
• The ability to think about the end-goal and higher strategy while understanding known constraints to produce an engaging design experience.
We are interested in receiving applications and inquiries from individuals who can work:
(1) 40 hours over the course of one to two weeks;
(2) mostly during regular east coast business hours;
(3) remotely at the location of their choice within the United States;
(3) starting as soon as possible.

Based on what we have learned during conversations with our client, Brainstorm Creative Resources is advertising a broad pay rate range of $80 - $140/hour. We expect to receive inquiries and applications from demonstrably talented professionals at various places on their individual career paths.
Brainstorm Creative Resources pays competitively and actively encourages our employer clients to do the same. However, it is unlikely (but not impossible) that we will be able to pay less experienced applicants at the top of the stated rate range. More experienced applicants can expect that we will make a strong, evidentiary case to our client, to pay you at the top of the range.
The actual rate and/or salary offered will be commensurate with experience and market norms. It will also be based on some or all of the following factors: credentials as detailed in your resume, your portfolio, interview experiences with Brainstorm Creative Resources and our client, and quality of reference providers and references provided.
