Description

We invite applications for the following position in our Corner Brook mill operation. We are seeking candidates who can work independently or in a team environment, are self-motivated with a strong work ethic, and looking for a challenge in a fast paced industry.

INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICAL/INSTRUMENTATION (E/I) TECHNICIAN
Competition No. 2020-07 
Based on mill priorities, the successful applicant will be regularly involved in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical equipment and processes in a heavy industrial environment.  Preference will be given to applicants with experience in PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCSs (Distributed Control Systems), AC/DC variable speed drives, and power distribution systems.
 
The ideal candidate will have a 1st Class Interprovincial Certificate in Instrumentation and Controls or Industrial Electrical and a 3-year Electronic/Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma.  
 
Consideration will be given to Industrial Electrical/Instrumentation Journeymen candidates with progressive experience in troubleshooting in the pulp and paper industry or other heavy industrial environment.  
 
Additional requirements are as follows:
 
- The successful candidate will have a strong dedication to safety practices and understand that working safely is a condition of employment
- The successful candidate must be able and willing to work non-traditional shifts including evenings and weekends
- Applicants will have recent WHMIS 2015 training and possess Standard First Aid certification.
- Applicants must provide proof of all relevant qualifications and be available to participate in a pre-employment testing procedure.  
 

Successful candidates will be required to submit a Certificate of Conduct 
from a local police agency or the RCMP before commencing employment.
