Description

Paramit is a rapidly growing international medical device contract design and manufacturing company that has been designing, and manufacturing high-quality medical and life sciences instruments. We are currently actively searching for a Solidworks PDM specialist.

This is a 6-8 month contract position with the primary responsibility of setting up workflows and software interfaces to the Solidworks PDM vault. The PDM specialist would be instrumental in creating automated workflows to manage part creation, part revisions, and BOM releases. The ideal candidate would have experience with both design and manufacturing environments. The PDM specialist should have the ability to work with system software engineers, key stakeholders to provide project updates and a deep understanding of business process creation. The candidate would have ideally worked in a product design/development environment with Solidworks PDM(ePDM).

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The setup process of part number assignments/scheme, Solidworks Data card/properties usage, drawings, solid models in Solidworks PDM system
  • Establish and maintain a configuration management system compliant with regulatory, quality, company, and customer (both internal and external) requirements.
  • Responsible for establishing engineering change management in a product development environment.
  • Establish control of design changes to product BOM, CAD drawings, ECOs
  • Setup an ECO system from within Solidworks PDM to generate ECOs for various phases of the product development process
  • Establish part life cycle process and revision control process for mechanical parts, including hardware, sub-assemblies, and system build
  • Create a procedure to manage the PDM system and provide training to the design engineers.

 

Qualifications: 
 
Minimum:

  • Required Education & Experience: 
    • BS/MS Mechanical Engineering
    • 5+ years configuration management/document control experience.
    • 3+ years of experience as a PDM system lead, document control in a Product Development environment.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
    • Understanding of the fundamentals of configuration management.
    • Proficient in Solidworks PDM system, ECO process, and manufacturing workflow
    • Ability to link business processes to the Solidworks APIs by providing requirements to Software engineers developing interfaces to Solidworks.
    • Hands-on mechanical engineering and product design experience
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to review/update processes/procedures.

Preferred:

  • Good system integration and project management skills.
  • Experience with Agile, Arena, Omnify.
  • Knowledge of medical device regulations (21CFR820, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14979, CMDR, JPAL, MDD, 2007/47/EC).
