We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join us as a part of our accounting team.

As our Product Development (PD) Accounting Manager, you will direct all aspects of daily operations of accounting functions and operations of customer administration including contracts, legal documents, project budgets, manpower planning, labor tracking, purchasing, and customer billing for Our PD office which consists of ~30 people, primarily engineers who work collaboratively with customers to bring their concepts to prototype; designing their medical devices and life science instruments for manufacturing.

The Accounting Manager provides financial analysis to manage our PD business and reports to our CFO.


Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements and disclosures in conformance with US GAAP
  • Prepare financial analysis to support Product Development Management to track overall and project results and profitability
  • Manage accounting and administrative personnel
  • Maintain customer documentation including proposals, contracts, addendums, and purchase orders
  • Track projects against legal documents and budgets
  • Maintain project budgets and billing rates with project lead input
  • Provide weekly status of actual versus budget, contract, cash forecast
  • Support contract negotiation
    • Include Breakup clause
    • Phase 0 fixed bid
    • Time & Material or fixed bid
  • Manpower planning
    • Work with HR to ensure proper staffing
    • Manage timecard input
    • Provide available employees and hours to Management and project leads
  • Purchase Order Management including
    • Manage purchasing process
    • Reviewing and approving purchase orders
    • Following up on purchase order status, as needed
    • Receiving and the corresponding distribution of material and documentation
  • Approve customer billing
  • Set up RFP meetings, information gathering, and corresponding logistics for proposal generation
  • Facilities liaison
    • Coordinate with Paramit facilities team to handle any issues in PD building

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Good knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to “roll up your sleeves” on a daily basis
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and reporting tools
  • Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, and using advanced formulas)
  • Experience in preparing financial statements
  • Team management skills and ability to prioritize work, motivate and develop staff
  • A high level of customer service satisfaction skills required
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting supervisory capacity
  • Experience in contract negotiation
  • Experience managing the purchasing function
  • BS degree in accounting or finance
  • Accounting certification a plus
