Position Description
DEA’s Salt Lake City, UT office is looking for an experienced Civil Designer/Drafter to support our Land Development Business Unit. The primary duties of the Civil CAD Designer/Drafter are to produce drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations related to land development projects. This position requires proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D. The position may support transportation projects using Microstation.
Other duties include:
- Provide design, drafting and plan production services for a variety of civil engineering projects such as commercial, residential, mixed-use, public works, utilities, and drainage.
- Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings, ensuring they meet company and industry standards and codes.
- Work closely with other Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers to develop designs, construction documents, and ensure coordination design effort is maintained.
- Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Drafting, Civil Technology or related area of study
- 4+ years of experience performing CAD drafting and design on land development projects
- Proficient with Civil 3D
- Proficiency with Microstation/InRoads is a plus, but not a requirement. If not proficient, willingness to learn Microstation
