Our Financial Coaches are our greatest asset, working collaboratively to design and deliver personalized financial education programs.  With the ability to cover any financial topic, from serious debt issues to advanced estate planning, the programs are delivered through a wide variety of mediums.  Free of the pressure to sell any products or services whatsoever, our coaches are focused on providing people with completely unbiased information and guidance, so individuals are able to make independent and informed decisions about their financial life and sustain important behavioral change.              

Position Overview:

The VP, Financial Coaching is a senior leader responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and operational standards for financial coaching and education across the organization. In this high-impact role, you will shape the future of financial wellness for millions of employees served through our Fortune 1000 client and enterprise partnerships. You will ensure our coaching methodology and education content are not only best-in-class but also scalable, inclusive, and outcomes-driven.

As VP, Financial Coaching, you will have oversight of our elite team financial planners and will be responsible for the strategy and delivery of our core services as well as provide cross-functional collaboration with other teams at Financial Finesse.  You will lead initiatives that enhance coaching quality, drive measurable financial wellbeing outcomes, and support the company’s position as a leading partner in workplace financial wellness.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and lead the company-wide strategy for coaching and education excellence, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission, client needs, and business goals.
  • Serve as a key voice in shaping the long-term roadmap of financial wellbeing services offered to our clients.
  • Interpret company needs, create plans to support them, distill them into actionable messaging for the Financial Coaching Managers and broader team.

Service Design & Standardization

  • Refine and elevate our framework for financial coaching and education, ensuring consistency in delivery while allowing for personalization across diverse employee populations.
  • Translate financial topics into actionable, relevant, and behaviorally informed coaching and education models.
  • Partner with Client Success and Technology to turn insights into product and service enhancements for clients and end users.
  • Evaluate coaching tools and systems and recommend enhancements to positively impact scalability and service delivery.

Coach Enablement & Talent Development

  • Build and scale a high-performing team of financial coaches through robust hiring, training, QA, and ongoing development programs.
  • Champion coaching excellence across the organization, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide one-on-one and group coaching sessions to financial coaches focused on skill development, performance optimization, and driving behavior change for end users.
  • Analyze key performance metrics and qualitative client feedback to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for growth across the coaching team.
  • Support managers in providing training and developing individualized development plans for financial coaches.
  • Design and deliver targeted internal training, tools, and resources that reinforce best practices in financial coaching and behavioral change strategies.
  • Monitor team-wide performance trends and make strategic recommendations to improve service delivery and coach development.

Leadership and Team Oversight

  • Define and track KPIs that demonstrate coaching effectiveness, user engagement, and long-term financial wellness outcomes.
  • Ensure we are responding rapidly to client or business needs by proactively managing our workforce capacity.
  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Client Success to ensure alignment of coaching standards and messaging across all client and user touchpoints.

Industry Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Represent the organization in external forums, conferences, and industry roundtables as a subject matter expert in financial wellbeing.
  • Benchmark practices against leading financial wellness companies and adjacent sectors to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for presentations for key client stakeholders. 

 

Qualifications:

  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial wellness, financial coaching, employee benefits, or related fields.
  • Proven experience building and scaling high-impact education or coaching programs, ideally in a B2B environment.
  • Expertise in personal finance topics and behavior change frameworks, with working knowledge of financial wellness benefits and employee engagement.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience advising and influencing executive-level client stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with a demonstrated ability to drive excellence, ownership, and integrity.
  • Meaningful experience with evaluating and implementing systems and processes focused on efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Familiarity with coaching credentials, learning principles, and financial education practices.
  • Experience in high-growth and mission-driven organizations strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing fully remote workforces strongly preferred.

 

What’s In It For You 

Our headquarters is located in El Segundo CA, however, we have been a fully distributed “work from home” team since March 2020. The VP, Financial Coaching position is based remotely, and for this role, domestic travel is expected approximately 25% of the time. Additionally, while our work hours are flexible, members of the team should expect to be available Monday – Friday and support internal meetings in Pacific Time.

The total compensation includes a $180,000 - $210,000 base salary with quarterly and annual bonuses (typically between 10-20% and up to 25%, respectively), resulting in a total of up to $261,000 - $304,500. Additional financial opportunities exist through cash-based profit sharing and through equity plans, and we offer a full comprehensive benefits package and 401k matching.
