Description: Full-time, 40 hours/week working Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with the potential for overtime opportunities.  Ideal candidates for this position within Kirby Medical Center will be energetic, be willing to work as a team and have strong customer service skills. As the Cold Food Prep Food Associate primary responsibilities include creation, assembly, display and marketing of all grab & go meal options in Apple a Day Café restaurant with an effort to keep healthy options available daily.  Ability to work with a team, keep a positive attitude, and meet the needs of customers is a must.  Maintaining a variety of options with fresh ingredients, daily use of knife skills, and appetizing display of products is mission critical for the success of this position. Under the direct supervision of the Food and Nutrition Services Lead Cook/Chef, Cold Food Prep performs a variety of patient, visitor and staff food service. Daily, this position will also help support the food service tech by covering breaks and assisting with Room Service and dishes during that timeframe.   

Qualifications:

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Previous experience in hospital food prep & current Food Service Sanitation Certificate preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds using good body mechanics.
