Education Requirement:
High School graduate or GED required with basic reading and writing skills.
Experience Requirement:
Position requires a minimum of five (5) years commercial construction experience, including scheduling and coordinating subcontractors, project planning and scheduling, managing people, and an in-depth working knowledge of construction trades is needed.
Special Skills:
Blueprint/plan reading and interpretative skills; math skills and aptitude/knowledge preferred.
Travel Requirement:
Travel throughout southcentral PA & northern MD

We are currently looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join our team.

Essential Functions:

  • Overall planning, management, and execution of assigned projects.
  • Perform each project successfully including project scheduling and controlling direct job material and labor expenses.
  • Ensure that assigned projects are executed in accordance with the contract documents and the high-quality standards of the company, and that each maximizes the company’s profit opportunities.
  • Participate in constructability review meetings when requested by Estimating. Present comments and concerns relative to site logistics, construction, material sections, and required details.
  • Conduct formal start-up and planning meetings to orient the subcontractors with their specific scopes of work.
  • When working in existing facilitates or campuses, hold planning meetings to include the owner and subcontractors to coordinate construction operations with the activities of the facility or campus.
  • Conduct Pull Planning schedule meetings if required with owner, architect, and subcontractors.
  • Develop a project logistics plan in conjunction with the project schedule to execute the work effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop a Project Site Specific Safety Plan.
  • Develop Safety Work Plans for each project.
  • Provide weekly SIF potentials on projects.
  • Develop a project QC plan.
  • Ability and willingness to travel outside the geographical area that may require a stay-over.
  • Assist in attending interviews for potential projects.
  • Conduct Weekly Foremen meeting for the project.
  • Participate in Owners meetings.
  • Attend training, company events, and functions.
  • Prefer to have experience and knowledge with computer software systems such as Procore.

 Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout work shift
  • Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
  • Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather
