We are looking for a dynamic Well Being and Engagement Specialist to join our Indiana team!

The Well Being & Engagement Specialist creates opportunities for all early childhood education and care professionals in Indiana to authentically engage with families, children, and their community in programs that are mentally, socially, and emotionally healthy for all. By collaborating with a team of content experts and instructional designers in an innovative, data-informed environment, the Well Being & Engagement Specialist identifies, develops, and delivers skill-based resources and learning opportunities utilizing research-driven best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to remain relevant in areas of authentic engagement, social, emotional, and mental well-being of children, families, and the community.
  • Develops and maintains content relevant to the practices identified in Indiana’s Self-Assessment Tool (I-SAT) for early childhood programs. Content includes but is not limited to in-person, live webinar, on-demand, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities and resources such as tools, templates, and job-aids. The I-SAT is SPARK Learning Lab’s program-level, rubric-based assessment tool composed of 50 quality items that offer a scope and sequence to Indiana’s early childhood education and care program leaders for program improvement.
  • Recommends revisions and updates to the Indiana Self-Assessment Tool or I-SAT based on relevant research and best practices. 
  • Facilitates and hosts online and in-person learning opportunities, as needed and assigned.
  • Provides professional development to Coaches to support their knowledge and expertise.
  • Engages in a community of practice with other subject matter experts on the Content Development Team to innovate content delivery methods and collaborate in content creation.
  • Cultivates relationships and collaborates with national, state, and local leadership and professional development organizations and professionals to bring the brightest and best to Indiana early childhood education and care programs. 
  • Participates in assigned meetings, events, training, and cross-functional teams as needed and assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Family and Child Development, Social Work, Public Health, Public Administration, or relevant field. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 5+ years’ experience in the family and community engagement field and/or mental health sector, including experience in coaching, supervision, program management and providing technical assistance.
  • 2+ years’ experience authoring family engagement related content and developing and facilitating professional development content in various formats.
  • Expertise in community-based interventions to improve outcomes for low-income families and communities, with direct experience developing and implementing program strategies.
  • Background checks are required for this position.
  • Travel required locally or long-distance, but mostly within Indiana, up to 20% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
