Description:

Agenus (Lexington, MA) is seeking a talented and highly motivated Research Associate to join our Immunomodulatory Drug Discovery group. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the discovery, research, and development of novel immunotherapeutic agents to address unmet medical needs of cancer patients. She/he will have opportunities to grow their career through acquisition of new skills, experiences, and professional relationships in a fast-paced and resource-rich environment.  Our collaborative and interdisciplinary research team has a track-record of applying state-of-the-art technologies and innovative methodologies to advance cutting-edge immune-oncology (IO) medicines into the clinic.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform anti-tumor proof-of-concept efficacy, PK, and PD in vivo studies.
  • Isolate and culture primary human and murine immune cell and mammalian cell lines.
  • Maintain electronic lab notebook; present data at group and department-level meetings; and assist in the preparation of regulatory document (IND, BLA) and patent submissions.

Qualifications:

  • An BS or MS degree in molecular, cellular biology, or related discipline and 1+ years of laboratory research experience is required. Coursework and/or practical training in immunology, microbiology, virology, biochemistry, and/or oncology is a plus.
  • Animal handing (rodent) including drug administration, blood collection, and necropsy is essential.  Experience with syngeneic and/or humanized tumor models a plus.
  • Experience with ex vivo and/or in vitro primary cell-based assays and techniques such as tissue culture, ADCC/ADCP/CDC, ELISA, PBMC isolation, immune cell subset purification/sorting, multi-parameter flow cytometry, etc is strongly desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing and delivering oral presentations and research reports contributing to IND, BLA/NDA and patent filings.
  • A working knowledge of statistical, computational, and / or programming tools is highly desired.
  • Demonstration of evaluating new technologies or developing new assays for accelerating early-stage discovery activities is desired.
