Audit Manager - Financial Statement Audit


Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, and a Master’s Degree in Accounting/MBA preferred, from an accredited university


Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience; minimum of 2 years of Federal Government Audit experience with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role


U.S. Citizenship Required


Certifications Required:  CPA Certification required

As an Audit Manager, you will be required to execute the following tasks for Federal Government Agencies:

  • Lead a team in performing financial statement audits
  • Interact with key client management to gather information, resolve audit-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Use the audit results and analysis to develop recommendations in accordance with FAM and Yellow Book requirements for improving compliance, effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability
  • Assist with business development activities of the firm
  • Develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive test plan designed to achieve identified objectives
  • Manage and supervise the execution of complex financial statement audits
  • Manage project resources, status reports, and related project management tasks
  • Develop audit reports to present audit findings with recommendations
  • Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization), and monitor the budget to ensure that work is completed on-time and within the budget
  • Lead interviews and participate in the hiring of staff and experienced candidates for client project
  • Mentor and supervise staff, seniors, and managers, delegate work to them, and review their work performed


To achieve these tasks, you must possess the following Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and standards, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), Internal Controls, and Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB)
