Accounting Supervisor

 

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, or related business degree. 

 

Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience 

 

U.S. Citizenship Required

 

Certifications Required:  CPA Certification required

As an Accounting Supervisor your duties for our Federal Government client will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Working with the Federal General Ledger (USSGL); 
  • Assist in the preparation of federal financial statements with an understanding of account relationships for both USSGL Proprietary and Budgetary accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of GTAS Treasury reports and reconcile to the Statement of Budgetary Resources.
  • Perform Financial Statement Line Item Reconciliations using Excel (such as Fund Balance with Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Property, etc)
  • Creating detailed SOPs on finance processes, as well as, cycle memos detailing workflows/ processes involving multiple organizations and systems
  • Weekly communication with Senior Management; being responsible for producing quality, timely, detailed, and competent work product
  • Utilize software packages that have the capability to prepare comprehensive documentation that includes both text and data analysis 

To achieve these tasks, you must possess the following Essential Qualities:

  • Knowledge of accounting standards issued by the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) (Seniors and Managers) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) (Manager level requirement)
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of transactions in computerized systems with a high degree of accuracy
  • Technical experience in commercial accounting, federal accounting and financial statement audits to serve as the primary lead of the proposed team
