DEA is actively seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Designer to join our Transit and Rail Group located in College Station, TX. As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for engineering, design, and field observation activities focused on transit and rail projects. From conceptualization to execution, you'll play a vital role in shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow, both within the office and on project sites around the country. Responsibilities:

  • Observe and inspect transportation facilities and construction sites.
  • Design transit and railroad terminal and capacity projects.
  • Develop concept plans and construction plan sets including site layout, track, grading, drainage, utilities, and roads.
  • Create design details, schematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with other project teams, such as structural, architectural, and geotechnical.
  • Prepare quantity and cost estimates.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction science.
  • Preferred: Previous internship experience in civil engineering or construction.
  • Proficiency in CADD design software such as Bentley and Autodesk products.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable working on fast-paced projects.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% nationwide.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
