Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Mid to Senior level Systems Administrator (Systems Administration, Senior Analyst) to support a Federal Government client at our Patuxent River, MD location. This is a Systems Administrator role that will manage Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux based computer systems in support of the MQ-25 Carrier-Based Aerial-Refueling System program.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, support and maintain Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Administer and support VMware server/cluster environment
  • Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology on assigned systems
  • Maintain and update operating system security patches
  • Maintain the system configuration standard using DoD based Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems; coordinate resolution with internal technical resources and external vendors
  • Document maintenance, repair and test activities; include documentation updates as an integral part of every project
  • Follow change control procedures during new implementations and changes to existing systems
  • Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Research and implement automated processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Analyze and monitor the capacity and performance of systems and software applications and make recommendations for improvements as necessary
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or an information technology-intensive discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; AA/AS with current, industry IT certifications and 7 years or HS/GED with current, industry IT certifications and 9 years will be considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree will be considered in lieu of 2 years of professional experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux System Administration
  • DoD IAT Level II Baseline Certification
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Active Security+ CE certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  • 15-20% Travel to other sites
  • Active Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of senior level System Administrator experience
  • Knowledge of Navy systems, networks, and IT infrastructure
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) is a plus
  • Aviation Maintenance is a plus

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret clearance; please note that the clearance process considers financial background aspects.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $85,000 - $125,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL’s complete compensation package.
