Sydney Airport is looking for a new member for our capacity planning team, someone with a keen interest in delving into diverse data sets—everything from understanding the capacity & efficiency of our check-in counters through to how aircraft utilise airfield infrastructure. This role is about more than just number crunching; it's about turning data into insights that can drive improvements and efficiencies throughout Australia’s busiest airport.

You'll be joining an influential team, with a broad view across the airport's operations and direct access to senior decision-makers. Given the emphasis on enhancing airport efficiency, this team plays a crucial role in shaping our strategic direction.

About the Role:

Your work will be pivotal in supporting the airport's future development, providing robust analysis to support business cases and drive decisions on future projects. You will be tasked with creating planning solutions underpinned by data, including conducting demand capacity studies, developing detailed simulation models, and analysing infrastructure development options. This is to ensure that Sydney Airport's leadership has the information needed to make informed decisions for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilise advanced modelling software to provide analytical insights for airport projects, focusing on optimising operational efficiencies and maximising capacity and flexibility.
• Engage in data analytics and simulation modelling to enhance our airside and terminal operations.
• Collaborate with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, ensuring alignment with local, national, and international standards.
• Use your expertise to influence terminal and airfield planning, charting the course for the airport's future development.
   

What We’re Looking For:

• A strong analytical mindset with the ability to process large data sets, identify trends, and derive actionable insights.
• Experience in planning, analytics, or a similar role. While previous experience in aviation or airport design is beneficial, we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who can demonstrate their ability to adapt and contribute to our planning efforts.
• Exceptional skills in Excel; experience with PowerBI is an advantage.
• A collaborative spirit, ready to work with teams across different functions to achieve common goals.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, showcasing a track record of impactful project management and stakeholder engagement.
