As the Senior Manager of Financial Control at Sydney Airport, you will hold a pivotal role in steering our financial operations through your expertise and strategic insight. This role is crucial as you will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity across one of Australia's most critical infrastructure assets, ensuring the business remains financially sound and well-positioned for future challenges.

 

About the role:

Your leadership will directly influence Sydney Airport's operational success by overseeing our financial control framework, enhancing reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This includes driving the efficiency of financial systems, enhancing accuracy in financial reporting, and providing accounting guidance to support our ongoing investments in infrastructure.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Uphold stringent financial control across all operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee the financial consolidation and reporting processes, aiming for enhanced efficiency and precision in our financial operations.
  • Manage the production and audit of statutory financial reports, ensuring adherence to timelines and regulatory demands.
  • Refine financial policies and practices to align with the airport’s current investments and the intricate nature of its infrastructure projects.
  • Cultivate and lead a high-performing financial control team, promoting excellence through strategic vision and robust leadership.


About you:

  • Qualified chartered accountant with experience in financial management within a complex environment.
  • Proficient in IFRS, with a background that includes Big 4 accounting firm experience.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven ability to develop teams and manage large-scale financial operations.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of thriving in a high-paced and reactive environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at building relationships with stakeholders at various levels and disciplines.
