Accounting/Payroll Specialist - Fare Media Specialist

Transit Authority of River City (TARC) is seeking a professional, energetic and detail-oriented employee.  This person will be repsonsible for problem resolution of Smartcard issues arising from farebox use, communicate with customers, and provide support to Fare Media staff.  Provides research and reports from fare collection systems as well as other reporting/data systems. The position will also include performing basic payroll duties.

Duties Include:

  • Investigate Payment Issues
  • Compensate Fare Losses
  • Compile and Analyze Data
  • Perform Payroll Duties
  • Provide Support for Fare Media Staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or related field; and three years of verifiable experience working with Excel and/or data analytics; or any combination of training, education and experience in payroll, bookkeeping or accounting may be substituted when competency in the position is demonstrated. 
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and timelines
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) are essential.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using database applications, including Excel.
  • Must be able to demonstrate analytical reasoning, critical thinking, as well as a high level of customer orientation. 
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to work  some after hours and weekends, as needed.
