Human Resources Specialist

The Transit Authority of River City is looking for an energetic, organized, detail oriented professional to fill the opening of Human Resources Specialist.   This critical role will assist in performing a variety of clerical, filing, and data entry duties involved in processing department paperwork, maintaining personnel files; responding to routine questions, and administering employment verifications.  Acts as support to the Human Resources Department.

Duties:

  • Perform general office administrative tasks

  • Provide HR support 

  • Maintain personnel records

  • Process new hire paperwork

  • Assist with the hiring process

  • Serve as back up to HR Generalist

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • One year of experience working in a human resources environment or equivalent experience; a combination of experience and training may be substituted when competency in the position is demonstrated.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience using HR software or other database applications preferred.

  • Successful performance of pre-employment tests required.
