General Maintenance Supervisor

Transit Authority of River City (TARC) is looking for an experienced, team oriented and energetic General Maintenance Supervisor.   This position is a key contributor Contributes to TARC’s safe and efficient operation by supervising coach servicing.  Manages the process to prepare coaches for the next day’s operations.  Supervises hostlers, service station attendants and laborers.

Duties

  • Maintain Grounds.
  • Supervise Employees.
  • Manage Coach Operator Basic Maintenance Process.
  • Act as First Responder to Accidents/Injuries/Incidents.
  • Provide back up for ServiceDivision Supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Ensure Compliance with Federal, State, Local and Employer Policies & Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent vocational training.
  • Three (3) years "hands on" experience in groundskeeping and general maintenance of diesel fleet operations in the transportation industry preferred
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, concise and comprehensive reports and other written materials.
  • Ability to analyze data and make decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.
  • Valid Driver's license - no violations within the past two years.
  • Must be able to maintain a Commercial Driver's License.
  • No felony or misdemeanor convictions within the past five (5) years.
  • Successful performance on pre-employment test(s) required.

  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as passenger vehicles.
  • Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems.
