Landscapes Delivery Lead

POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Cambodia
The Cambodia Landscapes Lead is responsible for program delivery across all four of CI Cambodia’s target landscapes. This position combines strategic oversight with direct program execution. The role manages CI Cambodia’s Program Managers, each responsible for a landscape portfolio, and supports the Thematic Managers to ensure integration and alignment of project delivery to achieve conservation priorities.
With diversified responsibilities spanning project planning, staff supervision, and stakeholder coordination, the Lead dedicates a majority of time to technical and strategic work, while also guiding staff performance and development. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the position exercises sound judgment to address complex, non-routine issues and contributes to broader organizational initiatives. It leverages subject matter expertise to influence program direction, build cross-functional partnerships, and champion innovative approaches that strengthen project outcomes. Through adaptive leadership, the role ensures programs are delivered efficiently and with measurable conservation impact, while supporting CI’s mission and values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Oversight and Delivery
- Lead the implementation of program delivery across all four of CI target landscapes, ensuring integration of strategies and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Oversee and strengthen project planning, execution, and reporting to ensure timely, cost-effective, and impactful delivery of program outcomes.
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Directly manage Program Managers, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support.
- Provide technical and strategic support to the Thematic Managers working across cross-cutting conservation areas.
Technical Support in Social Dimensions of Conservation
- Provide strategic and technical support on social aspects of conservation to ensure application of best practice in safeguarding, community engagement, and sustainable livelihoods.
- Ensure that social principles and safeguards are embedded across all program activities and that landscape and thematic teams are equipped to engage effectively and ethically with local communities.
Capacity Building in Management and Leadership
- Strengthen the management and leadership capabilities of Program and Thematic Managers through mentorship, coaching, and targeted capacity development.
- Support staff in strategic thinking, planning, team coordination, and adaptive leadership to enhance overall program effectiveness and team performance.
Partnerships and Collaboration
- Foster strong collaboration across internal teams, including CI HQ, and external stakeholders, including engagement with high-level partners and executive leadership.
- Build partnerships that support strategic goals and enhance program delivery at local, national, and international levels.
Decision-Making and Problem Solving
- Operate with autonomy and sound judgment to resolve non-routine issues, leveraging data, expert input, and stakeholder consultation.
Innovation and Thought Leadership
- Identify and support innovative solutions to conservation challenges across landscapes.
- Encourage creativity and new ideas among team members and promote a culture of learning and adaptive thinking.
Organizational Representation and Advocacy
- Represent the program in internal and external forums, contributing to institutional learning and strategic initiatives.
- Advocate for program needs and priorities within the organization and with key partners.
People & Resource Management Responsibilities
- This position directly manages the Program Managers in CI Cambodia’s target Landscapes in addition to a Program Support Coordinator.
- This position holds budget management approval authority across all landscapes in accordance with the Delegation of Authority.
- Approval limits will follow CI Cambodia’s Delegation of Authority
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work extended hours or non-standard hours, stand for extended periods of time, lift and transport heavy packages, and work in outdoor settings in all weather conditions.
- Typical office environment. May need to work extended hours as needed.
- Frequent travel to the rural and remote areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in natural resources management, protected area management, forest governance, conservation or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 to 7 years of related work experience in project management, including planning and budgeting, preferably in the conservation or international development sector.
- Up to 2 years of experience supervising others and managing and motivating teams.
- Field experience and knowledge of protected area management and livelihood development.
- Strong analytical and project management, reporting skills.
- Ability to diagnose problems and identify solutions.
- Strong written communication skills. Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, set priorities, and deliver quality results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
