Radio One Houston is seeking a dynamic and creative Promotional Lead to manage and execute marketing and promotional campaigns for our diverse portfolio of stations, with a primary focus on our country and classic rock stations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages the promotional announcements, liners, public service announcements, and giveaway calendar
• Attend mandatory weekly promotion team meetings
• Secure prizes from Integrated Marketing Specialists and promoters, and provide prize fulfillment updates
• Oversee all scheduled on-air giveaways
• Responsible for writing witty and attention-grabbing liners and scheduling their debut airtime
• Collaborate with Program Directors and Assistant Program Directors on writing promotions and assist with sending to production team
• Schedule remotes and appearances for Program Directors and Assistant Program Directors to secure talent for events
• Work with local Integrated Marketing Specialists and Community Organizers to collect event details for appearances
• Responsible for meeting minutes
• Works with the Director of Marketing to provide feedback to Promotion Request Forms submitted
• Create creative proposals to Director of Marketing for upcoming promotions before presenting to sales
• Scheduling and attending meetings with community leaders and clients alike
• Drafts and submit club agreements, on-air contest rules, promotional agreements, and letters to internal legal department for station approval
• Assist in the planning and execution of all Radio One Houston station special events
• Develop and distribute weekly schedules for the full-time promotions team, the week before they are scheduled
• Assist with promotional lead for KBXX/KMJQ/KMJQ HD2 as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must have at least 3 years of driving experience
• Flexible schedule, with the ability and willingness to work varied hours on the weekdays, and weekends
• Excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and effectively manage time
• Self-starter, with the ability to take and follow direction
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with the station’s clients and listeners
• Can work well independently and as an integral part of the team
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, and lift/move up to 50 lbs
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Canva, Adobe, and Excel spreadsheets
• Complies with Network and Urban One’s mandatory training and adheres to related course deadlines
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma or GED is required. College degree; preferred. Valid driver's license and state-mandated automobile insurance. At least 2 years if experience in marketing, media, or entertainment industry. 3 years of administrative experience in a professional setting.
