Position Summary

Plan, organize, direct and coordinate plant operations, consistent with requirements of Total Quality Management. R eporting to the Chief Executive Officer. Manufacturing oversees the manufacturing of our products and maintains the quality standards of our manufacturing facilities.

 

Minimum Requirements

Demonstrated success in providing change management leadership during growth and business transformation. Proven ability to develop high-performing teams through mentoring, collaboration, and accountability to rigorous standards while sustaining high engagement and positive energy. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate at all levels of the organization.

 

Able to travel domestically up to 75%. Education and Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Operations Management (or related field) and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 10+ years of manufacturing and operations experience with regional and/or national responsibility for multiple locations.

 

Demonstrated prior experience in large scale multi plant production, engineering, lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma, contractor management, planning, scheduling, quality, continuous improvement methods and project management Prior demonstrated knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource development, leadership and operations management is required

Essential Functions

Direct and coordinate plant operations through supervisory personnel.

 

  • Direct the administrative, receiving, and production personnel.

 

  •  Direct and participate in technical activities of labor relations, engineering and quality.

 

  •  Determine and implement plant policies consistent with corporate policies in managing and controlling plant operations.

 

  •  Establish plant master schedule and review daily with subordinates; make adjustments based on sales requirements and plant capacity.

 

  •  Provide instructions and advise on the proper use of the equipment to reduce Worker's Compensation claims and increase safety.

 

  •  Prepare, recommend and coordinate with Director of Operations on projects such as forecasts or equipment, material, and plant facility needs; develop and recommend capital and operating budgets; assist in preparing long-range plant expansion and conservation programs.

 

  •  Direct and assist in the instruction and training of personnel as required.

 

  •  Participate in Union negotiations; direct and assist subordinates in handling Union grievances.

 

  • Review and approve recommendations on hire, transfer, promotion, merit increases, disciplinary action and termination of receiving and production personnel.

 

  • Coordinate all activities necessary to the efficient operation of plant operations.

 

  • Participates in the Total Quality Process.

 

  • The VP of Manufacturing will be responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders both inside and outside of the organization in driving the company's best in class manufacturing agenda

 

  • Specifically, this individual will be responsible for partnering with their Business Leaders to ensure that customer service remains at the center of all they do.

 

  • Provide leadership and vision to the Americas manufacturing organization understanding and leveraging both people and technology to elevate overall operational performance

 

  • Drive large-scale change throughout the system by introducing plans that address organization,productivity, costs and working capital. • Drive synergies and efficiencies

 

  • Establish world-class, lean manufacturing standards and techniques to be applied in such areas as productivity, people safety, quality, raw material and product yields, throughput and waste reduction, plant reliability and environmental compliance, etc.

 

  • Establish world class New Product Introduction processes to ensure ISC supports rapid growth and delivers on customer expectations

 

  • Work with business leaders in the design and execution of the organization's forecasting, demand planning and SIOP strategy to drive inventory and cycle time reductions

 

  • Recruit, train, mentor and develop an engaged, diverse and world-class supply chain organization.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires minimal physical activity. May require lifting up to 50lbs on occasion. May require computer usage for an extended period of time – up to 8 hours in a day.  Occasional exposure to various chemicals. May require travel by car or air up to 75%, including nighttime.
