Position Summary

Reports to the Global Director of Engineering Sales and Project Tracking.  Responsible for maintaining, gaining and growing Carboline’s specification presence within the assigned territory working with owners, national accounts, and engineers to ultimately grow sales and profits.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Business or Technical Discipline (or equivalent experience) with 2 years Sales experience or 5 years minimum Sales experience;  2  years Supervisory or Management experience.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires minimal physical activity. May require lifting up to 50lbs on occasion. May require computer usage for an extended period of time – up to 8 hours in a day.  Occasional exposure to various chemicals. May require travel by car up to 50%, including nighttime.

 

Duties

  • Support the specification project coordination effort with owners, national accounts, and engineers to ultimately grow sales and profits.
  • Work with staff of Business Development Managers to assure they are identifying owner, engineer, architectural and independent specification consultants that specify high-performance coatings within assigned region.
  • Work with staff to assure they are developing relationships on a global, national and regional basis to assure Carboline’s success in the specified market.
  • Manage district using Carboline SFA communication tool/spec/quotes/target accounts/budgets.
  • Monitor specification activity to assure specs are being input into SFA and quantity goals are being met.
  • Assign accounts to, direct, train and motivate staff, follow up on specification activity to assure projects are ultimately secured and sold.
  • Develop project tracking.
  • Develop annual specification plans to assure continued sales growth within the region and specified markets.
  • Develop long-term strategic plans for assigned markets (3 -5 years).
  • Maintain personal contact as required with major accounts within assigned area.
  • Investigate and analyze market trends and competitors' positions in the market.
  • Coordinate activities with other Regions to assure assigned Markets are covered nationwide.
  • Communicate with and use all corporate resources (financial, marketing, technical, R & D, Administrative) to achieve regional goals.
  • Maintain involvement with various professional societies within assigned markets.
  • Specific responsibility for key regional industrial account development.
