Responsibilities:

We have an excellent opportunity for an Engineer-in-Training/Designer in our transportation land development permitting group. The successful candidate will assist senior staff on a variety of planning and engineering projects including transportation impact and traffic calming studies, conceptual mitigation design for development projects, as well as movie shoots, and special event transportation plans and management.  Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to; traffic signal bike facility design, trip generation calculations, traffic operations analysis, bicycle level of traffic stress, transit capacity analysis, and parking demand assessments.

The incumbent will be exposed to some of the most high profile projects and people in the Commonwealth and beyond.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Civil/Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning
  • 1-4 years’ experience in Civil/Transportation Engineering required.  Recent college grads considered.
  • Experience with traffic impact assessments
  • Experience with traffic analysis software such as Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, etc.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and AutoTurn
  • Familiarity with the City of Boston and MassDOT traffic analysis and design a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment and experience to define, analyze and resolve problems and issues
  • Desire to learn new skills daily and an inquisitive mindset on transportation
