Responsibilities:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Engineer-in-Training – Traffic for our Public Infrastructure department in our Boston office.  The successful candidate will assist senior staff on a variety of engineering projects including, but not limited to: traffic and safety analysis; development of conceptual and final design plans; development of pavement marking, signage, and signal plans, technical specifications, and estimates; design and feasibility reports; field data collection; and proposal and presentation assistance. The successful candidate will work closely with other civil engineering disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering
  • Relevant internship or 1-4 years’ experience of progressive responsibility in Traffic Engineering.  Recent grads considered.
  • EIT preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Synchro preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, HCS, and Vissim a plus
  • Familiarity MUTCD, HCM, HSM, and AASHTO a plus
  • Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus
  • Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently across multiple projects and deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment, and experience to define, analyze, and resolve issues
