Project Controls Scheduler

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Scheduler to work in our Facilities Program Management Department in our Atlanta, Georgia office. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The Scheduler works closely with the Project Manager to create and maintain the project schedule
  • Possess an advanced understanding of complex projects and how they work
  • Interacts with key members of the project team
  • Has an in-depth understanding of CPM scheduling and Earned Value Management
  • Has advanced experience with Primavera P6 for engineering and construction projects
  • Identifies work scope, technical sequencing, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Communicates with project teams, internal work groups, and clients
  • Develops, maintains, and supports project schedules
  • Works with engineering managers to assure the scheduler represents the execution plan
  • Report project progress to project managers and engineering leads through regular meetings
  • Analyzes contractor’s schedule submissions
  • Prepares and utilizes look-ahead schedules
  • Prepares critical path, earned value, and schedule risk analysis
  • Prepares cost performance and cash flow projections utilizing budget and cost-loaded schedules
  • Manages changes and keeps team members aware of changes to the schedule
  • Updates individual tasks and Project Performance
  • Possess leadership skills and mentor entry-level team members
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter that can work independently
  • Maintaining material delivery status with the Material management contractor and updating schedules with any material delays
  • Attending weekly contractor update meetings and incorporating contractor schedules into the overall project schedule
  • Identifying potential scheduling delays and assisting with mitigation

Required Education/Experience

  • Candidate must have 5+ years of professional experience
  • Proficient in MS Project Primavera P6, Excel, and Access
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Desired Education/Experience

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry 
  • Certification from AACE or PMI 
  • BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • Power BI and MS Project knowledge
