Archaeological Field Technicians - Temporary POWER Engineers is seeking to fill multiple Archaeological Field Technician positions for our Western Cultural Resources Department, based out of our Boise, Idaho; Denver Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona or Salt Lake City, Utah offices, for upcoming fieldwork in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. Experience and current residence in these states and surrounding regions are preferable but not required. Compensation for these positions is dependent on experience level but will range from $20 to $30 per hour. The individuals in these positions will assist senior archaeologists with fieldwork, laboratory analysis, construction monitoring, and preparation of technical reports and environmental documents. The positions are part-time to full-temporary with the potential to transition into permanent status. The successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to perform pedestrian surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring tasks. Candidates should be familiar with archaeological site recording, artifact identification, mapping, and other common field tasks. Candidates will be required to walk long distances over potentially difficult terrain through sometimes inclement weather. Proper clothing and field gear will be required, and specialized safety equipment will be provided. Projects may involve travel to and extended stays in remote locations. Travel and Compensation: Travel to projects will be provided from established POWER office locations in Boise, Denver, Phoenix, or Salt Lake City. No travel time or expenses will be paid for employees who wish to meet field crews at a project’s location. Use of personal vehicles to conduct on-site project work is not permitted. These positions are from part-time to full-time temporary; pay is dependent on experience and will range from $20 to $30/hour. In addition to our benefits plans for temporary employees, other benefits associated with these positions include potential spot bonuses, paid safety training that is transferrable to other employers, and competitive per diem.
