 Director of Accounting

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Director of Accounting to lead our accounting team. We are a privately held company working toward improving our processes and policies to reflect that of a public company The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in technical accounting, internal controls, and process improvement. They should have prior experience working for a public company and be adept at managing complex financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the company's accounting functions, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements
  • Coordinate / Manage with external auditors and support audit activities
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the accounting team
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Prior experience working for a public company and familiarity with SEC reporting requirements preferred
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
  • Proven track record of implementing and improving internal controls and processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (MS Dynamics) and MS Excel
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $146K-$163K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
