Urban One is changing the landscape of broadcast radio, launching new media products and services to our clients. We are seeking a senior sales executive with experience delivering new clients and high sales volumes consistently, maintaining strong client relationships and a demonstrated track record of selling across multiple platforms to join our National Sales team as Director, Corporate Sales & Partnerships.

We’re passionate about helping our clients build their brands through engaging audio and digital content within the Reach Media and Radio One portfolio. We are looking for a thought leader and sales executive who can raise the market awareness of Reach Media and Radio One value proposition, while facilitating & securing client and brand partnerships.

The Director of Corporate Sales & Partnerships will sell nationally and can reside anywhere in the domestic U.S. Ideally candidates would reside in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas or New York markets.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales/New Business Development

· Develop partnerships with industry players to expand customer base; actively recruit, attract and obtain new accounts to solidify sales growth

· Pitch current and new media products and/or services available to new/existing clients

· Develop and maintain productive relationships with existing customers

· Manage, develop and drive profitable sales growth and margins supporting the company’s strategies and initiatives

· Research the needs of other companies and develop relationships with decision makers

· Must be responsive to the client’s needs and follow through on all aspects of request

· Prepare and deliver presentations to various groups within the client’s organization when needed

· Contacts clients to inform them about new developments with Reach Media/Radio One products and/or services

· Partner with internal marketing and product teams to shape the evolution of our brand partnership solutions; manage pricing and value proposition to drive new initiatives for clients

· To develop new business through effective prospecting while also creating new “big idea” marketing opportunities for existing national accounts to drive revenue.

· To establish a budget and identify a revenue plan for attaining sales goals.

· To manage all aspects of the sales cycle from initial client contact to campaign implementation.

· To formulate selling objectives; complete with defined research and promotional strategy for each key account.

· To manage a client/agency list including to develop, maintain, and improve relationships with both key agency buyers and clients.

· To identify both returning and non-returning key accounts and formulate a plan of action at least 90 days prior to account campaign start dates to help drive revenue.

· Establish a pipeline of business, while maintaining an accurate sales forecast.

· Create information pieces to educate agencies and advertisers.

· Utilize a CRM system to track and report activities and pipeline.

· Travel for client/agency meetings when required.

· Create an information flow for orders, updates, changes, inventory advice, station data and market data.

· Coordinate the collections for all national activity.

Interdepartmental Liaison

· To attend and contribute to sales and promotion meetings.

· To lead the internal sales process and ensure that effective interdepartmental sales activity communication occurs on an ongoing basis

· To appropriately represent the company when attending relevant trade shows and community-related events on an ongoing basis

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

· 5-10+ years of sales experience with proven track record in introducing new solutions to agencies and clients, and opening up new revenue streams.

· Proven experience working with brands and marketing executives that resulted in measurable revenue growth.

· Established relationships with relevant clients and agencies, as well as a strong understanding of agency planning and buying cycles.

· Proven track record of closing large, custom, multi-platform deals.

· Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills and an ability to concisely communicate, both in writing and verbally, complex concepts to clients and management.

· Strong understanding of marketing and how various media work together to create results for an advertiser.

· Must have an understanding of what kind of brands will share our mission and a passion for content marketing.

· Creative thinker and problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

· Team player with a positive attitude.

· Drive to build the business with a high level of enthusiasm and the capacity to overcome obstacles.

· Podcast Sales Experience a plus.

· Creative talents and ability to solve tough problems

· Frequent travel is expected
