Director, Diagnostics and Innovation

Position Summary

The Director, Diagnostics & Innovation will lead efforts aimed at shortening the pathway to diagnosis and timely treatment for symptomatic patients living with Fabry and Pompe disease.  The diagnostic odyssey for individuals with a rare disease can often be long and traumatic. Advances in technology, screening and disease education have been beneficial, however, many individuals continue to suffer from long journeys to discover the root cause of their symptoms. The Director, Diagnostics & Innovation will be charged with helping find ways to reduce this journey.

Roles and Responsibilities

1.           Lead a Diagnostics Cross-Functional Project Team (Marketing, Medical, P&PA, Comm Ops) to drive diagnostic initiatives and monitor progress across key metrics

2.           Define new diagnostic initiatives based on a comprehensive understanding of the patient pathway and utilization of innovative technology, including AI

3.           Create and maintain a database of all diagnostic initiatives within Amicus to facilitate the exchange of key learnings & sharing of best practices

4.           Identify data sources and data analytics partnerships that may help foster better understanding of the patient journey and advance timely diagnosis and health equity

5.           Organize and conduct global best practice sharing workshops/seminars

6.           Provide input to guide diagnostic investments at the global level

7.           Act as an advisor for countries seeking to identify local market diagnostic solutions

8.           Stay at the forefront of innovative technologies to improve market understanding and develop cutting edge strategies & tactics to address opportunities

9.           Ensure compliance with all Amicus policies and procedures, as well as all local regulatory and legal requirements. Ensure that appropriate systems and processes are in place to meet these requirements.

Requirements

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required

Professional Work Experience Requirements

            10+ years in marketing, project management or consulting with in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

            5+ years in the Commercial Pharmaceutical industry

            Rare Disease experience highly desirable with requirement of understanding of specialty therapeutics.

Experience and Skills

            Proficient in patient journey mapping as an integral part of the brand planning process, with a focus on well-identified levers and barriers

            Strong project management skills, familiarity with AI/ML centric projects, and knowledge of commercial pharmaceutical claims data

            Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

              Confidence and credibility to partner with Global Marketing, Medical, Patient Advocacy and Business Operations counterparts.

            Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, growing global matrix organization without extensive infrastructure support

            Experience working in a global setting with key stakeholders from different countries and functions

            High level of integrity and transparency

            Excellent written and oral communication skills (in English), including strong formal presentation skills in front of internal and external audiences.
