The successful candidate will assist the 350th Spectrum Warfare Group (350 SWG), at Eglin AFB, Florida. The 350 SWG is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF) fighter, bomber, airborne surveillance and helicopter platforms.
Essential Job Functions:
The mission of the 350 SWG is to develop and test mission data (MD) to identify and/or defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat.
This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, force development evaluation execution and facilitating foreign materiel exploitation.
Conducts EW research, MD development and MD testing. Supports EW system programming/reprogramming, works with EW system engineers to coordinate programming/reprogramming requirements, prepares validation and verification test plans, participates in ground and flight-testing, and organizes and participates in MD configuration control boards.
The successful candidate will assist with the collection, recording, and post-test analysis of data generated during MD testing.
Conduct intelligence data mining and analysis.
Analyze EW threat waveform and reprogram parametric data into mission data file (MDF) via Specialized Electronic Combat Tools and Reprogramming Environment (SPECTRE) module.
Conduct validation & verification of MDF via characterization, correlation, compatibility testing using software-in-the-loop (SITL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL).
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering plus 5 years of experience.
Active Secret security clearance.
Demonstrated ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
Working knowledge of computer systems and an understanding of Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office software and possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
Required to travel.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of EW weapons systems development, test and evaluation, and systems engineering.
Knowledge of Department of Defense (DOD) test and evaluation methodologies.
Knowledge of various blue/grey and red threat systems and associated platforms.
Previous experience entering and updating, maintaining, and extracting data from source databases. Experience with Intel sources such as Common Emitter Database (CED) and Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming Database (EWIRDB).
Previous experience load checking to ensure data is properly formatted and usable by database users.
Previous experience with data analysis software to include development and documentation of data reduction and processing software; development of computer generated data products to include tabular and graphical information; development and implementation of data storage/retrieval capabilities, and other tasks related to data analysis software.
Skill in the application of engineering expertise specific to electronic warfare systems theory and equipment operation specific to radar, radar warning receivers, missile warning systems, active countermeasures, RF and IR expendable systems, fundamentals of aircraft avionics, and systems integration to assist teams in designing and conducting comprehensive studies, and developing solutions to problems.
