Small Utilities Mid-Level Engineer (SUS)
POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a Mid-Level Engineer for our Small Utilities Services Department. This position will offer the opportunity to work remotely.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The position entails performing substation design, distribution planning, system relaying and protection, transmission and distribution project support, as well as a variety of other tasks as assigned by utility clients
- Substation design typically includes physical design, electrical design, relaying, and grounding
- Studies typically involve system planning or performance analysis to support system improvements
- System relaying and protection typically includes station relaying, transmission line relaying and distribution coordination studies
Required Education/Experience
- 4+ Years working on substation or distribution design or studies for electric utility projects
- BSEE, BSEET, BSCE, or Industrial Distribution degree, from an accredited university
- The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with team members and client personnel
- Must have strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering upon which to build
- Must have valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Desired Education/Experience
- Experience with utility or industrial facility electric power systems
- Engineer in Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively with different personalities
- AutoCAD Experience
- Experience with distribution softwre (ex. Milsoft Windmil or SynergEE)
