In this position at Holcomb Station, our 394-megawatt coal-fired generating unit, you'll receive hands-on training and advancement opportunities while working with electrical equipment in a heavy industrial environment. You'll learn from a highly skilled and experienced group of EI&C Technicians and provide electrical troubleshooting and repair responsibility to our generation equipment and plant ancillary equipment. Install, troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain, test, tune, and repair complex electronic, electro-mechanical, pneumatic equipment, recorders, and programmable logic controllers.

Qualifications:

• Two year post high school technical certification in industrial electric or instrument and controls and four years progressively responsible industrial electric or instrument and controls experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, and variable frequency drives. Must be able to understand their components and functions.

The required tests have been developed by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a trade association of investor-owned electric utility companies. We strongly encourage candidates to review all the information, including the sample test brochures, and to use the available practice tests before taking the actual tests, available here:

Practice tests provide sample questions and detailed discussions of the correct answers. It's important to take the practice test as you would the actual one, with similar intensity and concentration. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.
