We are currently seeking a motivated Animal Keeper and Animal Keeper Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Hamilton Island’s Wildlife Park. Your Role

• As an Animal Keeper, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care, welfare, and husbandry of a range of Australian native animals, with a focus on koalas and reptiles.
• As an Animal Keeper Supervisor, you will not only care for the animals but also lead a small, committed animal care team, manage rosters, oversee team operations, and ensure best practices in animal husbandry and welfare.
• Engage and educate guests through interactive animal experiences, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of Australia’s native wildlife.
• Maintain and monitor animal health records, diets, and weekly food orders, ensuring the safety of both animals and guests.

About You
You are a passionate, energetic, professional with proven experience for the job. A motivating leader to our small team of wildlife keepers with high level customer service and most importantly, have the right attitude and self-motivation that will result in a positive experience every time for our customers. 

You will also have: 

• Animal Keeper:

  • Certificate III or higher in Animal Management, Zoology, or similar (Essential)
  • Minimum 2 years' paid experience working with Australian native animals (Essential)
  • Experience working with Australian native animals, including koalas and reptiles (Essential)
  • Current QLD Driver’s License and First Aid Certificate (Essential)

• Animal Keeper Supervisor (In addition to the above):

  • Proven experience leading or supervising a team (Essential)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and team-building skills (Desirable)
