ACTIVITIES MANAGER - MOUNTAIN BIKING 

About the role –

Hamilton Island is the Whitsunday’s premier island resort, blending natural beauty with exceptional hospitality, where every day offers a unique opportunity to create memorable experiences for our guests. We are now seeking a manager to run the day-to-day operations of Trails HQ and E Bike hire, ensuring presentation, safety and maintenance of equipment are of a high standard and guest service is exceeded.

Responsibilities –

  • Responsible for the weekly rostering of staff to ensure that the outlet supports the promoted hours of operation.
  • Provide hands-on support in both guest service and the maintenance of e-bikes to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Ensuring all staff are suitably trained in all equipment usage and can identify risks both in people and equipment.
  • Responsible for upkeep and safekeeping of the outlet and E bikes.
  • Manage and mitigate risk within daily operations.
  • Oversee breakdown response and provide assistance with hirer recovery as necessary.
  • Ensure consistent inventory levels by ordering parts, consumables, and retail items, and conducting regular stock takes to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Monitor and control business costs through strategic planning and regular financial analysis.
  • Ensure completion of daily schedules, operational checklists, and routine maintenance of bikes and tracks.
  • Conduct and oversee safety briefings, ensuring all indemnities are completed in accordance with the terms of hire.
  • Ensure the initial training of all staff is complete and implement procedures to provide continual training and assessment for all staff throughout their employment.
  • Develop and maintain opening and closing procedures and ensure these are adhered to by all staff.
  • Liaise with external parties i.e. Tour Desk, Conventions and Events regarding up-to-date information about the Ebike adventure.
  • Respond to all guest enquiries and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner, taking appropriate action to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

 

Qualifications –

  • QLD Driver’s License (Essential)
  • Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR (Essential)
  • Previous Management experience in a similar position (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in similar role (Desirable)
  • Experience in bicycle maintenance (Desirable)
  • Experience in the tourism industry (Desirable)
  • Diploma of Business or similar (Desirable)
