Be part of something exciting on Hamilton Island! The newly refurbished Sails Restaurant is reopening, bringing a fresh new look and vibrant energy to one of the island’s most iconic beachfront venues. Overlooking stunning Catseye Beach, Sails combines a relaxed, open-air atmosphere with refined dining and genuine, intuitive service.

We’re seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager who leads with confidence, warmth, and a hands-on approach. Your Role

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll play a vital role in driving service excellence across all areas of the restaurant. You’ll lead by example - working hands-on on the floor, behind the bar, and supporting your team wherever needed to create a seamless guest experience. Your ability to anticipate needs, adapt quickly, and maintain composure in a busy environment will be key to your success.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Lead, train, and motivate the Food & Beverage team to deliver intuitive, high-quality service

  • Support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all daily operations and guest service flow

  • Work hands-on across all areas - floor, bar, and host - to support and enhance team performance

  • Anticipate guest needs and add thoughtful touches that elevate each experience

  • Assist with rostering, stock control, and financial reporting

  • Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, positivity, and service excellence

What we’re looking for

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • Currently operating confidently at a Management level

  • A natural ability to read the room and anticipate guest needs

  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

  • A positive, team-first attitude and willingness to work across all service areas

  • Nationally Recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate (Essential)

  • Responsible Management of Licensed Venue Certificate & Card (RMLV) (Preferred)

  • Drivers Licence (Desirable)
