Civil/Structural Area Lead

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP seeking an Area Lead for our Facilities Civil/Structural team. If you have the desire to take your career to a new level with a company that is continually growing and consistently ranked at the top of our industry, then we want to talk to you.

As an Area Lead, you will be responsible for the continual growth and success of your team. We are looking for an individual that knows what it means to be a leader, not just a manager. You will need to be a self-motivated, excellent collaborator and someone that wants to take ownership of initiatives, including business development, to drive your team to the next level. You will report to the Civil/Structural Department Manager and be a peer leader with the other discipline Area Leads.

Here are a few things you can expect

  • Accountable for employee morale, operations, productivity, and profitability
  • Perform Bi-annual personal appraisals.
  • Day-to-day oversight of a civil/structural team
  • Assist Department Manager in department short- and long-term initiatives.
  • Development of project proposals and budgets.
  • Manage technical training and professional development of staff.
  • Develop and/or maintain department procedures and standards.
  • Lead successful projects as a civil/structural discipline lead
  • Perform project quality control reviews.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • 10+ years of experience 
  • Experience with business development, sales, and marketing.
  • PE License required.
  • Proven client relationship experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to resource plan and distribute workload

Desired Education/Experience

  • Experience with Navisworks
  • 2D AutoCAD, Revit, & Civil 3D
  • BIM general knowledge
  • Previous design and consulting experience
  • General understanding of quality control procedures
