PTE Area Lead
This position is based in our St Louis, MO office. Candidates are required to reside within a 150 mile radius of the office. The role supports projects located throughout the Midwest US. Relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Job planning, schedule management, and task control
- Lead service delivery through in-field work and back-office support (commissioning plan development, QA review, work scoping, and planning contributions)
- Technical and Administrative support for personnel in the field
- Technical and Safety Development
- Attend client meetings
- Document and share project lessons learned
- Contribute to team growth through recruiting and performance development activities with the support of the department manager
- Perform clerical responsibilities such as time-card and expense report approvals
- Contribute to business development through client relationship development, conference and trade-show participation, and proposal preparation/review
- Contribute to team development through technical training preparation and delivery and industry publication
Required Education/Experience
- Associates of Science in Electrical Engineering or Technology degree in a similar discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in the electrical testing industry, including experience in medium and high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing
- Familiarity with industry best practices in electrical/field safety and Human Performance Improvement
- Proven experience with Electrical Field Testing standards, practices, and procedures such as NETA, IEEE, NFPA applicable standards
- Outstanding organizational skills; ability to prioritize and process multiple, simultaneous demands and initiatives
- Outstanding communication skills: personal, written, telephone, email
- Outstanding computer skills: MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel 50% in the assigned area
- Current driving license and excellent driving record; ability to pass entry and random drug and alcohol screening tests.
Desired Education/Experience
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or Technology degree in a similar discipline
- 7+ years of professional experience in the electrical testing industry, including experience in medium and high voltage apparatus and substation protection and controls testing
- Experience in a testing firm and/or engineering consulting firm. Advanced technical or professional degree or related experience
- Experience delivering the above-mentioned services in adjacent markets, such as power generation, and/or industrial plants
- Deep background in human performance and safety program development and delivery
- Staff supervision, hiring, and leadership development experience, with preference given to individuals leading staff in comparable working environments
- Professional registration or ability and desire to obtain it
- NICET Certification
