The Sr. Staff MEMS Engineer will join the TDK-Invensense Product Engineering team in Milan, Italy, leading the development and productization of new MEMS devices for automotive applications. The candidate will oversee validation, failure analysis, and test development activities to support new devices through development and production launch phases. They will be responsible for introducing new products into ultra-high-volume production and will lead weekly cross-functional team meetings, including Integration, CMOS Design, MEMS Design, Foundry, Packaging, and Test teams. The applicant must be familiar with MEMS sensor technologies and capable of conducting failure analysis. Proficiency in statistical data analysis and test automation is required.

Core Responsibilities
·    Lead sensor development activities including validation, failure root cause analysis, and test development. Manage schedule and material for different test and product chips.
·    Characterize new product architecture/platform. Develop plans and perform characterization and testing per customer specific requirements. 
·    Drive and track interactions with suppliers for test infrastructure, silicon fabrication and packaging.
·    Represent the PE team in meetings with the cross-functional Engineering and Operations teams.
·    Provide weekly updates on status, risks, and mitigation strategies for ongoing activities.
·    Maintain engineering requirement specifications for sensors. Work with Marketing on datasheets.

Required Qualifications:
·    MS or PhD preferred in EE/CS/mechanical engineering or minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Minimum 2 years of automotive sensor experience preferred.

·    Fundamental knowledge of MEMS Inertial sensor (accelerometer, gyroscope) technologies and designs.
·    Fundamental knowledge of MEMS fabrication process
·    Excellent programming skills and experience with Python and/or Matlab. Prior experience of C#, embedded programming, and signal processing are preferred.
·    Proficient in data collection, data analysis, and strong statistical analysis skills.
·    Hands-on experience on debugging and characterizing analog systems (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.), measurement automation (labview or matlab), and failure analysis.
·    Hands on experience with semiconductor, mixed signal, and MEMS testing 
·    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
·    Experience in characterization of any of the following sensors: gyroscope, accelerometer, pressure sensor, PMUT, microphone or any other comparable physical sensor.
·    Experience in lean six sigma/FMEA-PFMEA/SPC is a strong plus.
·    Experience in problem solving techniques such as 8D/5-why/fishbone diagram
·    Familiarity with using MS Project or similar project management tools.
