Job Summary
The Marketing Communications Manager will have proven skills across a variety of marketing communications activities, with the ability to work independently to move quickly from strategy and planning to flawless execution of events, content marketing, digital marketing, and other global marketing initiatives for TDK's sensors product portfolio.
This role requires a strong understanding of B2B marketing principles and practices via direct sales, distributor channels, and to developers – across global regions. The marketing communications manager must have a strong understanding of full-funnel marketing, including how to identify meaningful objectives, strategies, and metrics for measuring progress against annual marketing goals.
Responsibilities include:
Content development and content marketing:
- Develop high-quality content for use across our owned channels, including the website, collateral, sales narratives, and cross-TDK articles involving InvenSense sensors.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our audiences’ needs, our latest products, our value props, and sales needs, to identify and produce high-impact content for our global sales and marketing needs.
- Manage the process of updating old website copy or materials, gathering both quantitative and qualitative metrics to identify the most impactful content – and then maintaining revision cycles to keep that content fresh.
- Write copy as needed for product messaging, ads, video scripts, use cases, emails, etc.
- Ensure content meets audience needs and marketing objectives at each stage of the customer
- Repurpose content for various uses, including employee newsletter, sales enablement resources, distributor communications, speaking abstracts, and articles
- Expertly coordinate input from product marketing leads and sales leads
Project management and event planning:
- Manage projects, serving as the administrator for our Asana project management system and keeping all team programs and tasks aligned to deadlines
- Plan and execute impactful industry events, working closely with cross functional teams and vendors to ensure a strong brand presence with flawless execution.
- Establish and align all parties to workback schedules, managing event details with a sense of ownership and strong attention to detail.
- Manage all event details, serving as coordination point person both ahead of and onsite at a show, across company participants, show vendors and customers
Marketing communications tasks including:
- Use a variety of marketing skills to support our digital and industry marketing work, including presentation development, editorial calendar development, supporting developer and distribution marketing programs, and similar.
- Work with the director of marketing on maintaining vendor relationships, managing meetings, contracts, and deliverables.
- Work with director of marketing to identify, track, and report on meaningful measurements for marketing activities, tracking and communicating results against objectives and KPIs.
Minimum requirements include:
- Bachelors’ degree in marketing, communications or journalism, or MBA
- 8+ years' experience with minimum 3+ years’ in technology marketing manager roles
- Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Wrike or similar), and Microsoft Office tools, specifically PowerPoint, Word, Teams and Excel
- Experience with tools in Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with CMS tools / editing
- Experience in project management across marketing programs
- Excellent collaboration, organization, and communications skills
- Strong understanding of business organizations and general processes
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to learn, adapt and flex toward team and business changes
- Strengths in self-managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Results-orientation, with the ability to identify and measure objectives toward business goals
- Proficiency in a variety of marketing communications skills
- Experience with event planning and digital marketing, with strong examples and references
- Experience managing analytics dashboards (GA4 and similar) and preparing reports on key results
- Expertise in multiple forms of content writing and editing, from technical to website to creative content, with a strong portfolio of writing samples
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications and training related to the above requirements
- Semiconductor industry marketing experience
- Distribution and/or channel marketing experience
- Developer / engineering audience marketing experience
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $100,000.00 and $130,000.00 for San Jose, CA. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role is also eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
