The Test Hardware Design Engineer-Staff position in the Silicon Test Engineering group is unlike any other hardware and test position at other companies. In this role you will be responsible for the development of test hardware to support MEMS device testing, characterization, and qualification. These products include integrated MEMS gyroscopes, accelerometers, pressure, microphone, ultrasonic, and other devices. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of analog/digital electronics, design tools, and hardware development best practices. This position requires working with multiple teams including Design, Validation, Product, and Reliability to support the products from development to production stage.
Responsibilities:
Work with cross functional teams to capture test hardware requirements for new products
Design electronics for MEMS device testing, including analog/digital design, schematic entry, PCB layout, and embedded systems
Validate, characterize, and qualify new test hardware
Create and maintain hardware design related documents, including BOMs, test procedures, target specifications, control specifications, characterization reports
Troubleshoot test hardware related issues
Support new product qualification and failure analysisCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including MEMS design, ASIC design, product managers, and quality assurance teams, to ensure alignment on testing objectives
Required Qualifications:
MS +5 years or BS +7 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related fields
Minimum 5 years of experience in board level and system hardware development
Strong background in analog/digital design and design tools (OrCad Capture, Allegro, Altium, PADS, PSPICE)
Ability and desire to learn and develop new technologies and test strategies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiar with mixed signal test and data acquisition
Experience with PLM tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with MEMS and digital test methodologies
FPGA design experience (Verilog, LabView FPGA)
Understands mechanical system design
Microcontroller programming experience
Experience with ATE HW architecture and requirements
Knowledge of SW programming languages (Python, C++)
