Entry Level Drafter
Job Summary
POWER Engineers is seeking a Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Denver office located in Lakewood, Colorado.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams
- The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience
Required Education/Experience
- Associate's degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree)
- Experience using AutoCAD 2000 and/or newer versions, preferably in an engineering work environment
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for completing tasks.
- The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
Desired Education/Experience
- Experience with CAD Overlay and MicroStation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel
- Knowledge of substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams is beneficial
- Good background in mathematics
- Experience working with scaled drawings
- Reliable self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks

Base Salary Range: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
