Fiscal Records Specialist

Location: 545 1st Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

The Clerk of the Circuit Court is looking for new members to join our team as part of one of the finest organizations in Pinellas County. By meeting all of your responsibilities in the most efficient and courteous manner possible, you will find your efforts rewarding.  Working independently and accurately, completes a variety of complex financial duties, performs full balancing services and intakes and processes court documents, passports, recording, marriage licenses, civil, probate, and traffic. Handles difficult customer service problems.

What Would You Have To Do?

  • Greets and assists customers at the front counter with Official Records, performing marriage ceremonies and issuing marriage licenses, accepting passports and court related questions.
  • Able to cross-train in multiple areas of all court related functions, if applicable.
  • Pay jurors for jury service from cash fund.
  • Performs off-counter duties as instructed by leadership.  
  • Processes new cases and filings using Task Manager in Odyssey as well as Intellidact, or any other computer program utilized by our office.
  • Follows Clerk's Accounting Cash Control procedures in all money handling.
  • Communicates diplomatically with co-workers, the public, the legal community, and the court.
  • Scans documents.
  • Assists customers with public view computers and/or microfilm reader in lobby area.
  • Works closely with sectional leadership and management team to meet the goals of the office.
  • Completes copy and/or email requests.
  • Assists in the training of employees within the section.
  • Completes additional tasks and/or assignments as needed.
  • Working sectional reports to compile statistics for the department and closely with leadership to meet the goals of the office.
  • Performs related work as assigned, or required.

What Do You Have To Have?

  • 2 years of experience in cashiering or accounting and practical skills in the use of computer equipment; or
  • An Associates or higher-level degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Detailed oriented.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the principles of cashiering, governmental accounting and record keeping procedures pertinent to area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of the Florida Statutes, Rules of Court and regulations pertinent to area of assignment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
