Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

This is specialized clerical work providing extensive customer service, cash handling, computer processing and detailed clerical work in the Probate Court Records section.
What Would You Have To Do?
- Greets and assists customers at the front counter with Probate related questions.
- Performs off-counter duties, including working at the mental health desk on a rotational basis.
- Processes new cases and filings using Task Manager in Odyssey as well as Intellidact, or any other computer program utilized by our office.
- Follows Clerk's Accounting Cash Control procedures in all money handling.
- Communicates diplomatically with co-workers, the public, the legal community, and the court.
- Scans documents.
- Performs phone bank duties.
- Assists customers with public view computers and/or microfilm reader in lobby area.
- Works closely with sectional leadership and management team to meet the goals of the office.
- Completes copy and/or email requests.
- Assists in the training of employees within the section.
- Completes additional tasks and/or assignments as needed.
- Working sectional reports to compile statistics for the department and closely with leadership to meet the goals of the office.
- Performs related work as assigned, or required.
What Do You Need To Have?
- 2 years of experience in cashiering or accounting and practical skills in the use of computer equipment; or
- Associate’s or higher level degree; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
Highly Desirable
- Knowledge of the Florida Statutes, Rules of Court and regulations pertinent to Probate.
- Knowledge of the principles of cashiering, governmental accounting and record keeping procedures pertinent to Probate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of automated office equipment, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, grammar, spelling, math and bookkeeping methods.
- Skilled in the application of quality customer service.
- Skilled in the operation of automated office equipment.
- Ability to make and apply decisions in accordance with laws, regulations and procedures.
- Ability to analyze accounts, perform computations and prepare related documents.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Ability to type with reasonable speed and accuracy.
